Week 10 - May 12th
We were at the MakerSpace of University House and I helped in sculpting the dragon’s jaws with Estelle by using aluminium foil as the base and the clay as the icing on the top! I have also created materials research on how the dragon will be designed, from the dragon’s body to the dragon’s egg.
We decided the theme of our dragon is water and ocean elements. I searched up materials in Lincraft and Spotlight, as suggested by Estelle, and managed to narrow down our material choices.
My research on the materials with hyperlinks on them.
I have realized while doing the dragon egg materials research, we do not have to make a literal egg, because it might be difficult to create the opening mechanism if I ever want to add that. But we can make an ocean clam as the case for the dragon if there is not much time.
Hopefully, for the next two weeks, I can help program, create the circuits with Aaron, and create designs for the dragon. It’s just a matter of managing our time well.
Hilariously, before the class ended, Simone was worried about the lithium battery Aaron has and Estelle proclaimed "Nahh, its pretty safe!", then proceeds to place the battery to the aluminum foil. Then, it started sparking up!
It gave everyone a heart attack because of the smoke and sparks it produced! Thankfully, Estelle immediately removed it from the foil - it was a close call, and no one got hurt. Our entire class would even get brownie points for this 'near-misses', hahaha.
